The Republican problem is about a President who persists in talking as if he’s still campaigning for the job.
The parameters are different and he must stop talking in bumper sticker terms.
Here’s a shot…
Me talking as Trump:
We failed to follow the Reagan admonition about taking 80% and not letting THE PERFECT become the enemy of accomplishing the good and living to fight another day.
As a party the philosophical divisions within the party must be intelligently discussed to find program adjustments that will be acceptable if not preferable to the disparate factions.
Otherwise, we betray the people who voted for us.
Soon so many will have no alternative to a failed medical system. There is no policy to buy except Medicaid and that is unacceptable. So all Republican sides have to take a deep breath and come up with a grand compromise or leaving it to the states necessitating Federal funds going to states that have made mistakes and now need a great deal of reimbursement.
As to tax reform, that must be nonpartisan in the sense we are not endangering Republican House members in blue states which are high tax by banning the state and local income tax tax deduction from Federal returns.
Given that obvious concession, we must articulate in simple unified terms that business rates must be lowered and a business minimum tax has been suggested to facilitate repatriation of massive billions stashed overseas by multinationals programmed on the basis say of a twenty percent number. If a corporation has stashed away profits overseas by subsidiaries where say the foreign country has already been taxed those profits say fifteen percent, upon payment of the differential five percent those funds, they could come back to be reinvested in American plants and enterprises with no further taxes.
And if the foreign tax was say 12 1/2 percent and the omnibus bill used a six percent differential, then that firm could pay no more than six percent and bring the money back for the obvious productivity. The GDP growth that would soon (with dynamic CBO scoring for a short period of say three years not the present ten) show the growth of Federal revenues that would accrue and thus give us our needed ‘Reaganesque’ growth.
DEMOCRAT VOTERS MUST BE TARGETED TO PRESS THEIR PEOPLE IN OFFICE TO SUPPORT WHAT IS OBVIOUSLY GOOD FOR AMERICA WITHOUT THE HATE AND THE IDENTITY POLITICS.
